- How are words split?
- Words are tokens separated by whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines). Punctuation attached to a word (e.g. 'word,') may be stripped or kept; often 'word' and 'word,' are normalized to the same for counting.
- Case-sensitive?
- You can choose case-sensitive or case-insensitive. Case-insensitive treats 'The' and 'the' as the same word for duplicate detection.
- What order are results in?
- Usually by frequency (most repeated first) or by first occurrence. Each duplicate word is listed once with its count.
