Frequently Asked Questions
- What are Alt codes?
- On Windows, holding Alt and typing a number on the numeric keypad produces a character. This tool lists the code for each character (e.g. Alt+65 = A).
- Do all characters have Alt codes?
- Standard ASCII (0–255) have numeric codes. Unicode characters beyond that may not work with simple Alt+number on Windows.
- Does this work on Mac?
- Mac uses different shortcuts (e.g. Option key). This tool shows Windows-style Alt+decimal codes; you can still use the decimal value as reference.
