Frequently Asked Questions

What are Alt codes?
On Windows, holding Alt and typing a number on the numeric keypad produces a character. This tool lists the code for each character (e.g. Alt+65 = A).
Do all characters have Alt codes?
Standard ASCII (0–255) have numeric codes. Unicode characters beyond that may not work with simple Alt+number on Windows.
Does this work on Mac?
Mac uses different shortcuts (e.g. Option key). This tool shows Windows-style Alt+decimal codes; you can still use the decimal value as reference.
